Joseph Luzzi (PhD, Yale) is Professor of Comparative Literature at Bard College and the founder of DeepRead, a program dedicated to educating leaders through literature and the humanities. A highly acclaimed speaker, Dr. Luzzi presents and consults regularly for businesses, corporations, and conferences. His books include "My Two Italies," a New York Times Book Review Editors’ Choice, and "In a Dark Wood: What Dante Taught Me About Grief, Healing, and the Mysteries of Love," which has been translated into Italian, German, and Korean. Luzzi’s honors and awards include a Yale College Teaching Prize and an NEH Fellowship from the National Humanities Center. He contributes regularly to publications including the New York Times, Chronicle of Higher Education, and Times Literary Supplement, among many others. His frequent media appearances include a profile in the Guardian and interviews on National Public Radio and its local affiliates.
