Joseph Nahmad

Founder, Nahmad Contemporary

Joseph Nahmad is the Founder of Nahmad Contemporary, a four-year-old gallery on Manhattan's Upper East Side. Nahmad is part of one of the most established art-dealing families in the world. He is the son of David Nahmad, and a majority of his family is based in Monaco.

Nahmad's gallery is known for displaying "challenging" work that is not universally known to the public. It has featured art from in-demand contemporary artists Richard Prince and Jean-Michel Basquiat, as well as Hans Hartung and Antoni Tapies. The gallery primarily focuses on work from artists who came to prominence in the 1980's, along with work from select artists working today and from modern artists from the 20th century.

In 2018, Nahmad was recognized as a Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree in Art and Style.
