Josephine Becker

Climate Justice Activist & Researcher

Josephine Becker is a climate justice activist, organizer and researcher, all in pursuit of new radical futures. All her work is a continuum of people before me, a legacy she hopes to continue, disrupting current systems and building spaces for new futures to emerge. Currently she is exploring this through her PhD on post-growth organization, joining the fight that dismantles the global growth economy following environmental justice principles, whilst also wanting to re-shape academia for more just-reflexive purposes.

Outside of her academic work, she is part of social movements and grassroots organization's, e.g. urban crofts, just-transition, feminist collectives. She is also the co-host of the YIKES Podcast, where they expand on many (and more) of these topics. When not doing this, she likes to think of radical good futures, for which she is inspired for by Nature: how our movements can find inspiration from forests, or water bodies - strong, dynamic, soft, resilient, diverse, complex. She enjoys hiking, swimming (no matter the temperature), food growing, food-sharing, and finding joy in the every-day bits.
