Josh Hawley

Constitutional Lawyer, US Senator & Author

Raised in Lexington, Missouri, Josh Hawley serves as the state’s junior U.S. Senator. As Senator, Josh has earned a reputation for taking on the big and the powerful to protect Missouri workers and families. He has stood against anyone who would threaten the wellbeing of Missourians at every level – as a constitutional lawyer, as Missouri’s Attorney General, and now in Washington.

A native of Lexington, Missouri in rural Lafayette County, Josh graduated from Rockhurst High School in Kansas City. After college and law school, he moved back home to Missouri, where he lives with his wife, Erin, their two boys, Elijah and Blaise, and their horse, Snap.

Josh is recognized as one of the nation’s leading constitutional lawyers. He has litigated at the Supreme Court of the United States, the federal courts of appeals, and in state court, fighting for the people’s liberties.

Josh has been a dedicated advocate for religious liberty, both as a U.S. Senator and as Missouri’s Attorney General. Before he became Attorney General, Josh fought Obamacare at the Supreme Court — and won — as one of the lead attorneys in the landmark Hobby Lobby case. Josh was also a lead attorney in the Hosanna-Tabor case at the Supreme Court, protecting the rights of churches.

Josh fought the Washington overreach threatening our farms and family businesses, including the Waters of the United States Rule and the Clean Power Plan as Attorney General. He took on the big opioid manufacturers, taking on their unethical marketing practices that have helped create an epidemic of opioid abuse. He cracked down on human trafficking in Missouri, leading the largest anti-trafficking bust in Missouri history. And he investigated the most powerful company in the world—Google—to ensure the safety of Missourians’ private information. Now, Josh is taking this fight to Washington. He is working to protect our religious liberty from powerful special interest groups, to keep Big Tech companies from abusing their power, and to prevent foreign interests from hurting American workers.
