Joshua J. Harris

Managing Partner, Apollo Management Managing Partner, Philadelphia 76ers USA

Joshua Harris is an American private equity investor who co-founded Apollo Global Management, one of the world's largest alternative investment firms. Harris is also the principal owner of the New Jersey Devils of the National Hockey League and the Philadelphia 76ers of the National Basketball Association, as well as owning an 18 percent stake in Crystal Palace of the English Premier League.

As a stakeholder in the 76ers franchise, Harris has been quick to make changes to revitalize the NBA team. Almost immediately after the purchase, 76ers focused on recasting its player roster, slashed ticket prices, revamped all its in-arena video and music packages, and doubled the size of its dance and dunk teams. Within 8 months, ticket revenues jumped by one fourth; the team also had the best attendance increase of any NBA team and sold more new season tickets for this coming season than any team.

Harris is a graduate of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and received his MBA from the Harvard Business School.
