Jules Kortenhorst is CEO of Rocky Mountain Institute, a nonprofit think-and-do tank that advances market-based solutions that transform global energy use to create a clean, prosperous, and secure future. He is a recognized leader on global energy issues and climate change.

Prior to RMI, he was CEO of Topell Energy BV and founding CEO of the European Climate Foundation. Before launching ECF, he was CEO for international operations of ClientLogic Corporation and served in the Dutch parliament. Earlier in his career, Kortenhorst worked for eight years for Royal Dutch Shell, including as managing director of Shell Bulgaria. He began his career as an analyst at McKinsey & Co. in Amsterdam. He recieved his Masters of Business Administration from Harvard Business School and his Masters in Economics from Erasmus University, Netherlands.

Kortenhorst currently serves as co-chair of the WEF Global Future Council for Net Zero. He also is a non-executive board member of the Energy Web Foundation and of Solidia Technologies, Inc. and an advisory board member of Land Life Company. Kortenhorst is married to Searl Vetter and has four children.
