Julia Mancuso
Former Olympic Gold Medalist Skier, Fitness Guru & Philanthropist; Host of the "Just Be Yourself" Podcast
Julia Mancuso is a trailblazing skier, fitness guru, role model, philanthropist, and free spirit who follows her heart. Her unconventional journey from starting World Cup racing at the age of 16, becoming a Nor-Am champion the same year, and participating in her first Olympics at 17, to earning more Olympic medals than any American woman in ski racing history is fueled by her unwavering passion for the outdoors and relentless determination. Mancuso's accomplishments include nine International Championship medals - four Olympic and five World Championship, setting a U.S. record for Junior World Championships medals, and earning an Olympic medal in every color - gold in 2006, silver in 2010, and bronze in 2014. She is also the only American woman to earn one of each color Olympic medal. Her final race took place at the 2018 World Cup in Cortina D'Ampezzo.
Following her retirement from professional skiing, Mancuso joined NBC as a broadcaster for the PyeongChang Games. She now balances life as a devoted mother of a newborn son and her activities with Akova, a direct-to-consumer outdoor brand. Akova inspires others to explore nature's beauty at the best price and runs its team uniforms program for ski clubs around the world. Mancuso splits her time between Maui, Fiji, and Lake Tahoe, traveling the world skiing and surfing with her husband.
Mancuso continues to make her mark as a motivational speaker, ski guide, and ambassador. Her recent endeavors include launching a women's underwear line, opening a fitness center, supporting charitable causes, and hosting her podcast "Just Be Yourself." Mancuso remains a source of inspiration, demonstrating the power of living life to its fullest, pursuing joy, and never placing limits on one's potential. Discover the many facets of Mancuso and be inspired by her bold approach to life.
