Julia McNamara brings 20 years of international business, marketing and business development to her work as an executive coach and consultant. Julia uses a variety of analytical, psychological and facilitation approaches in her work, each tailored to the client’s needs. She works with individual executives and teams in a variety of areas including: enhancing work performance, balancing work and life priorities, sharpening leadership skills, managing stress and change. While this can be achieved in a variety of ways, Julia’s specialty is helping clients set and achieve short-term goals. Her approach encourages new insights into the key capabilities and unique strengths needed to sustain practical behavioral change over time, resulting in the executive’s enhanced self-awareness, better decision-making and continuous performance improvement.
On the corporate front, Julia has coached senior executives at companies such as JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs and Google. In addition, she has worked with entrepreneurs to set strategic direction, grow their businesses, transform culture and improve the performance of their sales teams. To achieve this, Julia leverages her experience in management consulting and senior business development roles for companies such as BellSouth/AT&T, Price Waterhouse, Datamonitor and Controlware GmbH. Her innovative growth efforts have created new revenue streams worth $800+M/yr.
Julia has tremendous experience working with international markets. She lived overseas for five years, working or setting up teams in over 70 counties, and speaks three languages. Many of her engagements include a cross-cultural component. She graduated from Columbia’s Graduate School of Business in 1996 with a focus on information management and international marketing. All of this diverse business experience gives her a unique perspective on key issues facing variety of business leaders.
Currently, Julia works at Columbia’s Graduate School of Business as an adviser and coach to their Social Intelligence program for senior executives. She also was chosen for the short-list of 10 coaches chosen to work for Columbia Business School’s Alumni Relations program.
