Julian E. Barnes joined The Wall Street Journal in 2010 and has been covering the military and national security since 2003. After more than a decade as a Pentagon reporter in Washington writing on wars and military operations, he transferred to Brussels to cover European security. He has also written for the L.A. Times and U.S. News & World Report. Barnes holds an AB in social studies from Harvard University.
