Julie Larson-Green

CXO at Qualtrics; Former CXO of the Office Experience Organization at Microsoft

A self-taught programmer and 20-year Microsoft veteran, Green began with the company as a program manager and worked her way up to running the Windows group -- a task that included reinvigorating the operating system with the release of Windows 7. Under her watch, the division closed the fiscal year with a 5 percent increase in revenues. An executive reorganization earlier this year put Green in charge of Devices & Studios Group, which includes the company's bestselling Xbox franchise.

Julie Larson-Green leads the Devices and Studios group with responsibility for all hardware development including Xbox, Surface and accessories. She also oversees Microsoft Studios, which includes development of games, entertainment and premium content experiences for all devices across the company.

In 20 years at Microsoft, Larson-Green has been involved in defining products and customer experiences that touch more than a billion people, from developer tools in her early years to multiple versions of Internet Explorer, Office and Windows. In each role, she has balanced breakthrough design, such as the Ribbon in Office and the full redesign of Windows from the chipset to the experience, with a deep understanding of current customer needs and expectations.

Larson-Green most recently led the product planning, design and delivery of Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1, including the transition to a more collaborative cross-company rapid development and updating process. Her leadership responsibility extended from program management, design, research, development and testing across all international releases of Windows to Internet Explorer, Windows Services and Microsoft Surface.

Larson-Green is now at Qualtrics as the Chief Experience Officer, spearheading exciting opportunities to provide even greater impacts to businesses throughout the world in a new category called Experience Management. Qualtrics' products and services help businesses be successful with an analytics platform that delivers deep insights across all elements of the experience — employees, product, brand and customer.

Larson-Green earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Western Washington University and a master's degree in software engineering from Seattle University. A native of Washington state, she lives there with her husband and two children.
