#1 New York Times Best-Selling Author; Known for "Puddin',"Dumplin'" & "Side Effects May Vary"

Julie Murphy is the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the books Side Effects May Vary, Dumplin', Ramona Blue, amd Puddin'. She wrote her first novel, Side Effects May Vary during National Novel Writing Month while working as a librarian. In 2018, her book Dumplin' was made into a Netflix film, which starred Jennifer Aniston and Danielle Macdonald.

Before writing full time, Murphy held numerous jobs, such as wedding dress consultant, failed barista, and, ultimately, librarian. She attended Texas Wesleyan University where she received a degree in political science.

Murphy currently resides in North Texas with her husband who loves her, her dog who adores her, and her cats who tolerate her. When she’s not writing, she can be found reading, traveling, or hunting down the perfect slice of pizza.
