Justin Tinsley is a Sports and Culture Senior Reporter at Disney's Andscape (formerly The Undefeated). Since 2015, he has used his masterful narrative skills to offer thought provoking and engaging commentary on a range of timely and culturally relevant topics. From Marvin Gaye to Biggie Smalls, Malcolm X, Lauryn Hill to Cardi B, Muhammad Ali to Serena Williams, Richard Pryor to "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air," LeBron James and Zion Williamson to Nipsey Hussle and Jay-Z, Tinsley is a foremost journalist examining the intersection of sports, race, and pop culture.

He's authored the Notorious B.I.G. biography, "It Was All a Dream: Biggie and the World That Made Him" (May 2022), and three-time NBA Champion Dwyane Wade's photographic memoir "DWYANE." Tinsley is also the host of the 30 For 30 Nipsey Hussle original podcast "The King of Crenshaw."

The multi-platform journalist makes weekly television appearances on the ESPN program "Around the Horn" and contributed to SportsCenter, "The Six" with Jemele Hill and Michael Smith, "Highly Questionable" with Dan Le Batard and "Outside the Lines" with Bob Ley and Clinton Yates. Tinsley has also been a distinguished voice on several podcast series. He has been featured in ESPN the Magazine with his 2017 cover story on Grammy winner Chance the Rapper and NBA All-Star Jimmy Butler, and in 2019 via his interview with Dwyane Wade. In 2018, Tinsley was featured in the LeBron James-produced and Jemele Hill-narrated documentary "Shut Up and Dribble" that focused on basketball's long history with pop culture, fashion, and social justice. That same year, he published a book review in the New York Times on Super Bowl champion Michael Bennett's "Things That Make White People Uncomfortable."

Tinsley's writing has also appeared in Rolling Stone, The Sports Fan Journal, and EBONY.

Tinsley received his B.A. in Public Relations from the HBCU Hampton University, and his Masters in Strategic Marketing and Communications from Georgetown University. He is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
