Kalina Silverman

Founder & CEO of Big Talk

Kalina Silverman is the founder of Big Talk (makebigtalk.com), a social experiment and video project about skipping small talk to make more meaningful connections instead. Big Talk started with a Youtube video that went viral (https://youtu.be/deScHJGoVc8) when Kalina skipped small talk to ask strangers ""What do you want to do before you die?"" Since then, Big Talk has expanded into a global movement where people around the world have hosted their own Big Talk events - at work, school, and in their communities. Big Talk was also awarded a Fulbright Research grant on "How to use Big Talk to establish empathy across cultural communications."

Big Talk has been featured on Huffington Post, USA Today College, NBC, Forbes, and more. Celebrities like Keith Urban, Lorde, and Billie EiIish have played the Big Talk Question Card Game, and it has further expanded into a global movement. Kalina has delivered a TEDx talk ""How to skip the small talk and connect with anyone"" that has over 5,000,000 Youtube views to date, and delivered speaking engagements for Microsoft, Adobe Women, Elite SEM, Google, USC, MTSU, The US Embassy in Singapore, the Fulbright Program, and more.
