Born and brought up in Ludhiana, Punjab, India. Mr Karanvir Singh is the Founder and Chairman of Visionum Group, which is a conglomerate of companies dedicated for nurturing a new generation of entrepreneurs by undertaking diverse entrepreneurial ventures which are at the core of facilitating India’s march towards a robust economy & thus making positive social impact. On the United Nations agenda 2030, Visionum Group is working on various sustainable development goals like ‘No Poverty’, ‘Gender Equality’, ‘Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions’. At the age of 26, he has travelled to 29 countries and working on over 22 different projects running globally.

A dynamic personality, Karanvir successfully brought his Tele Rickshaw venture (app based auto rickshaw aggregator) under a Public Private Partnership (PPP) model by collaborating with the urban transport authority of Madhya Pradesh, thus making Tele Rickshaw the only auto rickshaw aggregator in entire India to be officially backed by Government. His venture Tele Rickshaw is also instrumental in providing financial and social inclusion cover to over 6500 auto rickshaw drivers impacting the lives of more than 30,000 individuals with a customer base of 4,30,000. Tele Rickshaw is on a mission of integrated multimodal connectivity (Integrated Fare Collection) by integrating all the modes of transport on a single platform.

Karanvir has been a practitioner in the field of sustainable urban development and his efforts for sustainable urban mobility, financial and social inclusion etc. have been duly acknowledged by the Madhya Pradesh government. He has also worked as an expert on the latest ITS (Intelligent transportation system) Technology for the BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) Standards like Dedicated Right-of-Way, Busway Alignment, Off-Board Fare Collection, Intersection Treatments, Platform-Level Boarding etc.

One of the recent works is the idea of building school toilets for underprivileged girl child in schools to promote sanitation and regular attendance in schools supporting the mission of “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan”. Karanvir & his team successfully raised funds from the ABRAAJ Group, the project is impacting over 10,000 girl children every year.

Another interesting project by Visionum is the installation of free wifi at public places for the promotion of digital platforms for the masses, increasing India’s digital literacy and access, In line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Digital India Mission.

On the agenda of “Building Sustainable Cities”, last year Karanvir represented Central India in an International conference “Shape South Asia” held in Kathmandu. Recently Karanvir has represented India at World Trade Organisation, World Economic Forum and United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland. He had also shared his thoughts at international conference on the agenda of “Shaping Identities”, and delivered a talk on Urbanisation, held in Colombo last year.

He is also the Founding member of a Non-for Profit organisation, HELP (Home of Experts, Lawyers and Professionals), which provides professional and technical assistance to the marginalized sections in terms of free legal aid, and thus, seeks to protect legal rights of citizens.

Karanvir holds an engineering degree from the prestigious SGSITS, Indore, where he was recently awarded with the “Youngest Alumni Achievement Award”. Along with a diversified experience at a US based multinational company as a Software Developer, he also holds a Masters degree in Journalism and Mass Communication, and also in Social Works. He has also been accepted by one of India’s top B-School, Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Rohtak for the executive post graduate programme in management.

A multi-faceted person, Karanvir is also an enthusiastic Bhangra performer, Swimmer, Basketball player and a Gold Medallist in Roller Hockey Skating.

Karanvir is a renowned Speaker & has been invited for Guest Lectures and Workshops at various institutions like IIMs and IITs. He is also supporting and establishing Entrepreneurship-Cells in various colleges across India.
