Host, "Disrupt with Karen Finney," MSNBC.

Karen Finney is the host of MSNBC's "Disrupt with Karen Finney," which launched in June. An MSNBC political analyst and guest host since 2009, Finney has more than 20 years of experience in national politics. She worked on four presidential campaigns and Hillary Clinton's first Senate race. In the Clinton White House, she was the first lady's deputy press secretary and deputy director of presidential scheduling. She was also the first African-American spokeswoman for the Democratic National Committee, where she helped guide the communications and media strategy for the successful 2006 congressional and 2008 presidential elections. Finney has worked to improve education as a teaching assistant in a minimum-security facility for pregnant teens, as a Scholastic Inc. employee and as communications director for New York City Schools. She is a member of the NARAL Pro-Choice America board and the National Association of Black Journalists. She holds a B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles.
