Karl Ahlrichs is a professional generalist whose high energy and broad interests make him a resource to countless clients and a stranger to no one. Ahlrichs' experience is ideally suited to times of organizational change as he pulls on risk management and organizational development theories to replace “best practices” with “next practices”.

Early in his career, Ahlrichs took a programming and technical writing job with USSI, an IBM Marketing Partner in the Insurance marketplace. As he studied insurance, he discovered a love for the history of risk management and for explaining its complexities as simply as possible. He owes much of his communications mastery to working as a writer and editor at the Purdue University newspaper, to on-the-job writing experience and to the process of becoming a published author. A lifelong learner, Ahlrichs got his degree in Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan in his forties. He joined G&A in 2010 after serving as a founding partner of ExactHire, bringing his HR, operations, diversity & belonging, and learning & development skills and incandescent personality with him. Ahlrichs is a national speaker, presenting on people issues in Management and LEAN theory, and is often quoted in the local and national media.

Ahlrichs' affinity for design, composition and learning started at a very young age, by taking and examining thousands of boring pictures with the goal of improving his craft. He loves deploying that practice-to-improve approach with all manner of hobbies including writing haiku, mastering cutting-edge technology and explaining the ACA in sixty seconds. He has lived in Europe and lives to explore new experiences with his wife and family.
