Having persevered through a deadly cancer not once, but twice, celebrity voice actor Kat Cressida was left - literally - with no voice from the 13-hour life-saving surgery that left her face paralyzed and disfigured. She thought she would never get to bring the characters she voiced for Disney, Pixar, Cartoon Network, and countless Video Game studios to life again; and the trauma she endured through several painful, isolating and terrifying months of plastic surgery, rehabilitation, and physical therapy left her disconnected from any sense of self… with no road map to help her navigate through the darkness.
Thus began an incredible journey – and through countless battles and hardships that included taking on the healthcare system, medical negligence, extensive reconstructive surgery and years of healing – Cressida has emerged not only as a top artist in the industry, but as an advocate working to address many of the challenges she had to overcome. Today, Cressida is best known for voicing Dee Dee in Cartoon Network's "Dexter's Laboratory," Jessie in "Toy Story," Uta in the F/X series "Archer," Constance Hatchaway, aka The Black Widow Bride, in Disneyland and Disney World's The Haunted Mansion theme parks, and much more.
Cressida believes no one should suffer the indignities and traumas of being misled or underserved. With a particular passion for supporting juvenile and geriatric patients, she has chosen to use her hard-won experience and landmark victories to champion proper treatment and benefits within the healthcare system; address medical negligence and bullying; raise awareness about living with hidden disabilities and residual traumas; and shed new light on the intricacies of returning to one’s life – and work – after hardship, loss, and pain.
Cressida is no longer speechless. Recounting her extraordinary journey through the dark side of a fatal diagnosis and back, she's not only re-claimed her voice — she is using it to inspire, strengthen, and enlighten audiences worldwide. Her passion, combined with her unparalleled gift for storytelling, shows the true resilience it takes to not just survive… but THRIVE.
