Kate's blog is best known for the video hair tutorials that she started in 2011. She originally made them for her clients to reference, but after pinning a few to Pinterest I learned that they were actually helpful to more people than I could imagine. Over 100 hair tutorials later, The Small Things Blog has become primarily a hair and beauty blog.

Kate owned an independent private hair studio, working behind the chair, for 8 years. She locked the doors and handed over the key just before David was born. Now she stays home with her baby and has the pleasure of writing on the blog during the week.

Although the content may focus on superficial things, Kate doesn't believe that is where self-worth comes from. She is a Christian and is so thankful to have a relationship with the Lord. Kate and her family attend a great church in the area called The Summit.

Originally from outside of Chicago, Kate got tired of being cold and migrated down south. She's lived in North Carolina for 7 years and currently calls Raleigh home.

She loves the color grey, chocolate cake, and lipstick. She says she always has bobby pins and hairspray in her purse. You know, in case of emergencies.
