Kathey Porter is a nationally recognized small business strategist, award-winning supplier diversity expert and a frequent keynote speaker, panelist and workshop facilitator at conferences and events focusing on supplier diversity, small business development/entrepreneurship, women's entrepreneurship and empowerment and diversity and inclusion. She has addressed audiences at Inc. Magazine, Inc 5000, Fast Company, EY, ESSENCE Festival, Babson College, Veteran’s in Business and The Conference Board. She’s been a contributor to several local and national platforms including OPEN Forum (American Express) and has been a featured small business expert in ESSENCE and in numerous media outlets including Ebony, Black Enterprise, The Huffington Post, Atlanta Journal Constitution and a host of other digital platforms and podcasts.

Specializing in entrepreneurial scaling through contracting, her business insights and “no-nonsense” approach have made her a sought-after business coach for several national small business accelerators including the Small Business Administration, NMSDC and Babson College. Her online course, BusinessFAB® Academy, targets entrepreneurs looking to grow and scale their businesses with institutional customers. She supports small businesses in a variety of areas including strategy, business development, marketing and financial management.

As an award winning entrepreneur and founder of training and professional services consultancy Porter Brown Associates, Porter consults with mid-market corporations and organizations across a variety of industries including local/state government, higher education, K-12 and the federal government, assisting senior leaders to effectively develop and implement successful organizational diversity strategies. During a time of significant organizational transformation, she guides firms through transition beyond the traditional business model, in order to develop best in class diversity programs, initiatives and cultures.

Porter is the author of "50 Billion Dollar Boss: African American Women Sharing Stories of Success in Entrepreneurship and Leadership," which was a #1 new release on Amazon and was nominated for an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Literary Work - Non-fiction and Implementing Supplier Diversity: A Driver of Entrepreneurship, both published by Palgrave Macmillan. She has two more books scheduled for release in 2022.

​An adjunct business instructor at several colleges and universities, Kathey is a proud HBCU alum, obtaining her BBA from Savannah State University, MBA from Georgia Southern University and Master of Science (MSE) in Entrepreneurship from the University of Florida. She holds the designation of Certified Professional in Supplier Diversity (CPSD).
