Co-Founder of Birchbox

Katia Beauchamp is the Co-Founder of the monthly beauty subscription service, Birchbox. Subscribers are sent a box of four to five selected samples of makeup, or other beauty related products. The products include skincare items, perfumes, organic based products, and various other cosmetics.

A native Texan, Beauchamp has a master's degree in Business Administration from Harvard Business School and a bachelor's degree in International Studies & Economics from Vassar College.

Prior to founding Birchbox, Katia worked in structured finance and commercial real estate for three years. Katia's love for all things beauty and style combined with her skills from a deal-focused and finance background are instrumental in forming partnerships with brands as well as in growing and scaling the Birchbox business.

Katia began her career as an entrepreneur after graduating from Harvard Business School in 2010, where she met Hayley Barna, her Birchbox Co-Founder. Their connection grew into friendship and the pair's collaborative idea for Birchbox inspired the company's debut in September 2010.

Since launching in 2010, Birchbox expanded into men's products in April 2012 with Birchbox Man. In September 2012, Birchbox acquired Paris-based JolieBox, gaining business units in France, the UK, and Spain to take the company global and become the international market leader in discovery commerce. The company now has over 2.5 million monthly active users.

In October 2018, a minority stake in Birchbox was purchased by Walgreens, with Birchbox to be sold in Walgreens stores. Birchbox will curate full-sized skincare, makeup, and hair products from more than 40 brands. The partnership began in 11 stores across major U.S. cities. Six stores in Chicago, L.A., NYC and Minneapolis launched Birchbox experiences at the end of 2018, followed by five stores in Chicago, Dallas, L.A. and Miami in early 2019.
