Former CEO of the One Love Foundation

Katie Hood is the former Chief Executive Officer of the One Love Foundation, the nation's leading educator of young people on the topic of healthy and unhealthy relationships. With a passion for solving problems that impact millions of people's lives, she led the organization for nine years, reaching 2.5 million young people with film-based, peer-to-peer workshops and hundreds of millions more with online campaigns. She also raised over $50M to support One Love's mission of ending relationship abuse and creating a world full of healthier relationships.

Prior to joining One Love, Hood was Chief Executive Officer at the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research where, for nine years, she worked to drive progress towards a cure for the disease. Hood also worked as a philanthropic consultant and served as a Visiting Lecturer at Duke University’s Sanford School of Public Policy. Prior to working in philanthropy, Hood held positions at both Goldman Sachs and Bain & Company.

Hood is a passionate, dynamic speaker who has appeared at Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Conference and The Nantucket Project. She has frequently been quoted as an expert on dating violence and healthy relationships in national media outlets. Her TED Talk on the difference between healthy and unhealthy love has nearly 15 million views.

Hood received her bachelor’s degree in Public Policy from Duke University, and MBA from Harvard Business School. She served on the Advisory Board of the National Institutes of Neurological Disease and Stroke at the NIH, and as an advisor to the Institute of Medicine at the National Academies in Washington, DC.
