Restorative Justice Advocate & Best-Selling Author of "Walking After Midnight"

Katy Hutchison is a best-selling author, professional public speaker and restorative justice advocate.

What she describes as her “accidental career”, one that has taken her around the world and touched the lives of thousands, began in 1998 following the murder of her husband Bob McIntosh. A passionate spokesperson for victim and offender issues, Hutchison also works with youth to understand social responsibility and develop their emotional literacy.

Her book, entitled Walking After Midnight: One Woman's Journey Through Murder, Justice and Forgiveness, is published in Canada and the US with condensed versions by Reader’s Digest available around the world.

Hutchison's powerful story inspired Lifetime Network's 2010 movie "Bond of Silence". Her 2013 TEDx talk has been viewed over 100,000 times and she was proud to be included in the Simon Fraser University Alumni Appreciation Project in 2015.

She makes her home in Victoria, BC with her husband Michael Hutchison. In addition to the financial management of Michael’s law firm, she is an in-school mentor for Big Brothers Big Sisters, and has previously sat on the Boards of Glenlyon Norfolk School, The Art Gallery of Greater Victoria, Children's International Summer Villages and Restorative Practices International.
