Comedian, Director & Writer; Known for "White Chicks" and "In Living Color"

Keenen Ivory Wayans is an actor, comedian and filmmaker, and he is a member of the Wayans family of entertainers. Wayans first became prominent in the 1990s through the Fox sketch comedy series “In Living Color.” He has produced, directed and written several films, starting with Hollywood Shuffle, which he cowrote, in 1987.

2000’s Scary Movie, which Wayans directed and acted in, was the highest-grossing movie directed by an African American until 2005. From 1997 to 1998, he hosted a talk show, “The Keenan Ivory Wayans Show.” In 2014, Wayans was a judge on the eighth season of “Last Comic Standing.”

Townsend wrote, directed, and starred in the movie Hollywood Shuffle; Wayans was costar and cowriter. The movie's success allowed him to raise the money to make I'm Gonna Git You Sucka.

Wayans created, wrote, and starred in In Living Color, a sketch comedy television series that originally ran on the Fox Network from 1990 to 1994.

He attended Tuskegee University on an engineering scholarship, but he dropped out the semester before he would have graduated to pursue a career in comedy. Wayans is a vegetarian, and he promoted the diet in a public service announcement for the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine in 2006.
