Keith Gabel

Two-Time Paralympic Snowboarding Medalist

Keith Gabel is an action sports enthusiast with a background in big mountain and freestyle snowboarding. After an industrial accident eventually led to his left leg being amputated below the knee in 2005, he returned to his snowboard just three months post-op -- but it was not until the 2010-2011 season, his sixth winter riding with a prosthetic, that he found competitive para snowboarding.

Gabel progressed quickly through the international ranks, earning him a spot on the 2014 Paralympic Team heading to the Winter Games. In Sochi, Gabel was part of the first-ever men's Para Snowboard medal sweep; he placed third in snowboard cross. At the Paralympic games in 2018, Gabel improved on his previous results, finishing in second place on the podium. Since then, he became a snowboard cross World Champion in 2019 and earned a silver in snowboard cross team in 2023. Earlier in his career, he was a two-time X-Games boardercross gold medalist. He was selected as the 2022 Paralympic closing ceremonies flag bearer in Beijing.

Outside of snowboarding, Gabel is a fierce mental health advocate and keynote speaker for companies, corporations, and groups.
