Kelley Nikondeha is a Practical theologian and the author of "Defiant: What the Women of Exodus Teach Us About Freedom" and "Adopted: The Sacrament of Belonging in Fractured World."

Nikondeha's growing understanding of her heritage and her bi-cultural marriage have helped refine her theology. Born to a Mexican mother, she was adopted at three months old; her adoptive mother is also Mexican-American. Nikondeha’s husband is Burundian, and they make their home in Burundi, where she is co-director for Communities of Hope, a community-development organization. She also serves as the theologian-in-residence for SheLoves Magazine, a global community of women committed to God’s imperatives of love and justice in the world.

Nikondeha earned a degree in Communication Studies at Westmont College and a Masters of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary.
