With a completely distinctive style that juxtaposes refinement with rawness and melds color, whimsy, sophistication and swank, multifaceted designer Kelly Wearstler has revolutionized the look, feel and meaning of modern American glamour.

Wearstler's career took flight in 1999, when she infused Beverly Hills' Avalon Hotel with the unexpected, fearless aesthetic that has now become her signature. The bold, maximalist Midcentury design has been celebrated by critics and guests alike, and shepherded the current era in boutique hotel decor where dazzling, one-of-a-kind layouts are de rigueur.

In addition to her commercial work, Wearstler continuously creates grand residential interiors for some of the most prominent players in the worlds of art, business and entertainment.

Recently, Wearstler debuted a collection of ready-to-wear, jewelry, furniture, home accessories and objects d'art based on the vibrancy of her interiors, while simultaneously opening a 2,400-square-foot flagship boutique on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles. In addition to her freestanding boutique, her eponymous collection is also available at storied luxury retailers including Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, and Selfridges, as well as specialty stores worldwide and on her own robust e-commerce site, KellyWearstler.com.

Her expansive list of credits includes collaborations with some of the industry's most respected names, including The Rug Company and Bergdorf Goodman. Last spring, Wearstler launched a line of fabrics with Lee Jofa -- her second collection for the venerable textile company -- and is readying to launch a line of signature wallpapers and trims with the brand, her first in six years. In addition to her decorative items, ten Wearstler-designed patterns of both formal and casual dinnerware are available through Pickard, one of America's oldest makers of fine china.

As a showcase for her creative work, Wearstler has published three books: "Modern Glamour: The Art of Unexpected Style," "Domicilium Decoratus" and "Hue." A fourth book, "Rhapsody," was released in late 2012.

An avid fashion aficionado who has been collecting vintage pieces since childhood, Wearstler has been named to Vogue's Best Dressed list. Other accolades include a berth on the Los Angeles Times' bestseller list as well as inclusion in TIME Style & Design's elite "Design 100" group of global creatives. Wearstler also served as a two-time judge on the Bravo network's interior design competition series, "Top Design."

Her work has been featured in publications including Elle Decor, Harper's Bazaar, Architectural Digest, The Financial Times, InStyle, Elle, Conde Nast Traveler, Women's Wear Daily and The New York Times, among many others. In an extensive 2009 profile, The New Yorker called Wearstler "the presiding grande dame of West Coast interior design." She has also been documented on the "CBS Morning Show."

Wearstler is a South Carolina native and graduate of the Massachusetts College of Art.
