Olympic Gold Medal Ice Hockey Player

Kendall Coyne Schofield is an American hockey player who won gold medal at the 2018 Winter Olympics as a member of the Unites States women's ice hockey team. She played an integral role in Team USA's success as she scored two goals with one assist and led the team with 21 shots. She also won a silver medal at the 2014 Winter Olympics and five medals at the IIHF World Women's Championships. Her career began when she was named at age 15 to the United States Under-18 National Team. Coyne Schofield was a three-time member and captain of that team and tallied two gold medals and one silver.

The Palos Heights, Illinois native attended college at Northeastern University in Boston. During her time at Northeastern, she was a two-time captain and three-time All-American and ended her collegiate career as the school's all-time leader in points with 249, goals with 141 and single season points with 84. Additionally, she became the Hockey East all-time leader in career points, career goals, single-season goals, single-season points, goals per game and points per game. In 2016, Coyne Schofield won the Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award, which is presented to the top female college hockey player. In 2017, she received the NCAA Today's Top 10 Award.

In January of 2019, Coyne Schofield was named a replacement for Nathan MacKinnon of the Colorado Avalanche at the NHL All-Star Skills fastest skater challenge. She became the first female to compete in the NHL All-Star skills competition.
