Kendall Gammon

NFL Football tight end and long-snapper - and also a business entrepreneur - Kendall is the personification of the All-American success story.

Kendall Gammon is the personification of the All-American success story. From his humble beginnings growing up amidst the wheat fields of Rose Hill, Kansas, he began his quest for success at an early age. He ultimately landed a football scholarship to NCAA Division II Pittsburg State University, where he helped his team win a national championship in 1991.

Dating back to those small-town origins, Gammon has always surrounded himself with countless successful people who have helped provide him with a multitude of life lessons. His commitment to four key principles have empowered him to achieve his life long dreams of playing in the NFL, culminating in 2005 Pro Bowl, the NFL All Star game, and Super Bowl XXX. These very same principles have also enabled him to build a great family and even a thriving business. His against-all-odds story of achievement will inspire you to build your business and personal future around these principles.

Kendall is considered a long-snapper extraordinaire and is the most consistent and accurate at it. He even has his own video on long-snapping called “Snap Right,” which is made available to high schools and colleges. He is also the author of the book entitled, "Life's a Snap: Building Your Business and Personal Future."

Now in his 14th season, Kendall joined the Kansas City Chiefs as a tight end unrestricted free agent from New Orleans in 2000. Before that, he played with the New Orleans Saints and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He played in 218 straight games, a then record for active NFL players. Kendall has been referred to by many as “the best in the business,” which essentially equates to being the best in the world at his particular craft. Perfection has come through consistency, both in performance and longevity.

In college, Kendall played guard and tackle and could be called upon in a pinch to work on the offensive front after seeing limited action at right tackle for the Steelers as a rookie in ’92. His college career includes being a member of 1991 NCAA Division II national champion, two-time offensive caption, and three time All-MIAA selection. He started 41 consecutive games, the last two seasons at guard after playing tackle as a sophomore. He was offensive captain during his final two years and three-time All-MIAA selection. As a senior, he anchored the offensive line for 1991 NCAA Division II national champion. Moved from TE to offensive tackle in his freshman campaign. His degree is in physical education from Pittsburgh State.

In high school, Kendall earned All-State honors three times in football and basketball. He was a four-time All-Conference selection for football, three times for basketball, and once for baseball. In addition, he was a member of the National Honor Society.

Kendall is active in numerous charities including being a spokesman for Kansas City Free Health Clinic, as well as the Johnson County Christmas Bureau. An entrepreneur as well, he is co-owner of Paradise Nursery, a 43-acre retail/re-wholesale nursery in the Northland of Kansas City. He has been actively involved in building a multi-million dollar company literally from “a vacant field” on up. His business sense has been put to further use as a player-elected representative for the National Football League Players Association (NFLPA). He attended and completed the NFL Business and Entrpreneurial Program held at the prestigious Harvard Business School.

Kendall enjoys family life and looks forward to passing on his love for football on to his sons.
