14 year NFL Veteran, Super Bowl Champion, NFL Community Man of the Year, and ESPNU Sports Analyst and Philanthropist

Carter grew up in Tallahassee, Florida, was a National Merit Scholar graduated from the University of Florida in 1995 with a degree in Zoology. His All-American career allowed him to be selected by the St. Louis Rams as the sixth overall pick in the 1995 NFL Draft. In 1999 he led the NFL in sacks with 17, earning him Pro Bowl, All-Pro, and All-Madden honors. Carter was with the St. Louis Rams when the team defeated the Tennessee Titans in Super Bowl XXXIV, its only Super Bowl title in team history.In 2001, Carter joined the Tennessee Titans. In his second year with the team, Cater was a 2002 Pro Bowl selection and helped lead the team to the AFC Championship game with his team high ten sacks.The same year, Carter and his wife founded The Kevin Carter Foundation which earned him nomination by his teammates as the Community Man of the Year during three of the four seasons he spent with the Titans. Carter then landed with the Miami Dolphins in 2005, where he played two seasons with the team. In his first season with the Dolphins, Carter tied for the team lead in sacks with six. He spent his final two seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, retiring in 2009. In his 14 NFL seasons, Carter never missed a game.Carter was voted onto the Florida Gator All-Century Team and the University of Florida Gator 100th Anniversary Team. He was inducted into the University of Florida Athletics Hall of Fame as a “Gator Great.” In 1998, Carter founded the Kevin Carter Football Endowment at Florida, which provides scholarships to deserving college athletes.

Kevin Carter finished his NFL career with 224 games, 219 starts, 628 tackles, 104.5 sacks, two Pro Bowl appearances, one All-Pro team, and a Super Bowl ring with the Rams. Most recently, Carter was inducted into the St. Louis Sports Hall of Fame by legendary NFL coach, Dick Vermeil. The former sack veteran can now be seen on ESPNU, as a college football analyst in studio.
