Kevin Everett

in 2007 Buffalo Bills tight end Kevin Everett slumped to the turf with a broken neck, today his inspirational story of recovery has been described as a miracle

Kevin Everett’s spectacular football career began in high school, where he was a three-year letterman. He also won Class 5A All-State honors in 2000. Everett attended Kilgore College for two years, where he was a two time first-team All-Southwest Junior College football conference pick. A Kevin Everett appearance at the collegiate football level helped him become one of the top ranked junior college players in the nation. He later transferred to the University of Miami to finish his college football career.

The first Kevin Everett appearance in the NFL was as the 86th overall pick by the Buffalo Bills in the 2005 NFL Draft. Everett’s early injuries forced him to join special teams for most of the 2006 season. In September 2006, Everett made his first career start with the Bills and made his first career NFL reception in October the same year.

In 2007, Everett sustained a life-threatening injury in a game against the Denver Broncos. Unsure if he would even live, Everett defied the odds and was even able to walk onto the field for the final Bills home game of the season.

Today, Kevin is busy raising a family of girls. Everett is a full-time stay at home father to three daughters. Everett’s passion for football has never been debated. Harnessing and controlling the desire to play has been a process, but he feels he’s in a much better place than he was a few years ago. He’s proud that he did not get professional help to deal with his feelings about what he lost. He credits his wife and his pastor for helping him with what he calls his “spiritual growth.”

The topic of a Kevin Everett speaker appearance is no secret. After his well-publicized, near-fatal football injury, fans always want to hear about Everett’s fight for survival and his amazing recovery.
