Kevin Fagan

Cartoonist and creator of Drabble

At the tender age of 21, Kevin Fagan became the nation's youngest syndicated cartoonist and now, 33 years later, he hopes to one day become the nation's oldest syndicated cartoonist.

In the meantime, Kevin, the creator of Drabble, a comic strip that chronicles the lighthearted and goofy antics of the Drabble family has to settle for 4 million plus daily readers in over 200 newspapers around the world.

If you are not familiar with Drabble, let me introduce you to the family. There are the parents: Ralph, a highly-trained Mall Cop with a taste for fast food; June, a housewife lovingly referred to as Honeybunch; and their three children. Norman, the eldest, a sweet-natured college student that is "one McNugget short of a Happy Meal." Patrick, the middle child and the Brain of the family; and Penny, the precocious little sister. Then there are their pets; Wally, a skittering little wiener dog; Oogie, a scaredy cat; and Bob, a rare South American parrot that impersonates a duck but is really just a duck.

The millions of Drabble fans never have to worry about lack of new material from Fagan. Kevin has created new Drabble cartoons 6 days a week for the last 33 years. That is over 11,000 unique cartoon strips. Now, to put those numbers in perspective, Drabble daily readership is the equivalent of the viewership of a hit primetime television show. Add in his 8 published Drabble books and a Drabble iPhone app, you can see that Kevin is a one-of-a-kind creative force. How can one person have such monumental output? Well, as Kevin says, "I dont get out much."

Fagan's catalogue of work offers potential strategic partners an extremely large pool of content for licensing and merchandising opportunities. Kevin has had many offers over the years to license the Drabble images and create other entertainment properties based on his unique brand of family humor. However, Little League Coaching, Pee Wee Soccer games and myriad joys of family life have gotten in the way of these business opportunities. Now that the kids are in college, Kevin has turned his focus to expanding the Drabble brand and his talents for creating family humor as a whole.

When it comes right down to it, Drabble fans know that no matter how strange, weird or peculiar a family isthey are still family...and everyone wants to be part of the fun.
