Kevin Nazemi is one of the three co-founders of Oscar, the start-up centered around providing users with insurance and medical care services. Oscar provides a wide network of medical services and coverage at the right price for users. Oscar is currently growing, adding many medical providers to their network in 2012/2013 and expanding to the public consumers throughout 2013/2014.

Prior to joining the workforce, Nazemi studied at MIT. While at MIT he studied Political Science and Government, graduating in 2003. Nazemi goes on to work for Microsoft after leaving MIT, starting out as a Product Manager. He worked his way up the ladder, functioning as the Global Business Manager and then Marketing Director. Nazemi was a vital part of the Microsoft team, he explains, “By the time I left, I was a key team member on a product that had reached hundreds of millions in revenues. My trajectory at Microsoft had accelerated even faster than I had hoped for. That was when I assessed my progress: what did I have to do to get the skills and networks I needed for the future?” Nazemi took his skills from Microsoft and pursued a higher education, enrolling in Harvard’s MBA/MPP program (2011). This joint program allowed Nazemi to focus on what he truly cared about, “business, public policy, and technology, especially in health care”.

Applying the methods learned in his business experience and his education at Harvard, Nazemi co-founded Oscar. Oscar thrives with multimillion dollar funding deals, and is currently a medical insurance provider available in limited areas of New York. Plans to expand to other states are set for 2015.
