Khalid Itum

Executive Vice President at MoviePass

Khalid Itum holds the role of Executive Vice President at MoviePass. He does so after having served in a full-time capacity as its Vice President of Business Development & Studio Relations, and prior to that, having served as both an investor in, and an advisor to, the Company.

As Executive Vice President, Khalid manages the day-to-day operations at MoviePass, spearheading company development and driving its exhibition and distribution strategies forward. Khalid is also responsible for its strategic plan and ensuring its implementation.

Khalid's mandate is to elevate the Company into its next phase, and to lead its integration plan with Moviefone™, MoviePass Ventures, and MoviePass Films.

In his role as Vice President of Business Development, Khalid had been responsible for driving revenue through multiple studio and independent distributor partnerships and various brand and content deals. He played a crucial role in growing MoviePass’ Los Angeles office and led the strategic formation of MoviePass Ventures and its first acquisition of American Animals — alongside The Orchard — at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival. He also spearheaded the acquisition of Moviefone™ from Oath earlier this year.

Prior to MoviePass, Khalid was known to others as an entrepreneur, advisor, and investor, who had driven the growth of a number of technology companies, with a focus on capital formation, business development, and revenue acceleration. He also founded KALEIDOSCOPE, producing large-scale events with a 360-degree approach to marketing, bridging digital and experiential around major cultural moments.

Khalid is a partner at NextGen Venture Partners and is frequently a guest speaker and contributing writer. He is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University’s SAIS (MA, International Finance & Middle East Studies), Johns Hopkins University (BA, International Affairs & Economics), and Choate Rosemary Hall, and is an alumnus of Singularity University’s Executive Program.
