Grammy Award-Winning Hip-Hop Artist & Activist Focused on Social Inequality, Police Brutality & Systemic Racism

Michael Render, professionally known as Killer Mike, is a Grammy-winning artist and songwriter originating from Atlanta, GA. He forms one part of the acclaimed hip-hop duo, Run The Jewels, alongside EL-P. Together, they have released four significantly recognized studio albums including "Run the Jewels," "Run the Jewels 2," "Run the Jewels 3," and "RTJ4." Their latest release, RTJ4, ascended to the Top 10 on the Billboard 200 and received extensive critical acclaim, ranking #1 on NME's The Best 50 Albums of 2020 list. Run The Jewels was named the 2020 Spin Magazine Artist of the Year and has garnered eleven Libera Awards, including the 2021 A2IM Humanitarian Award, and four Clio Awards, amongst others.

Outside of Run The Jewels, Killer Mike has sustained a prolific solo career for over two decades. He has released multiple studio albums, mixtapes, and collaborations with considerable figures in hip-hop such as Outkast, Jay-Z, Big Boi, T.I., Black Thought, and more. Killer Mike's solo album "Michael," released on June 16, 2023, won three awards at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards, including Best Rap Album. He announced his seventh studio album, "Songs for Sinners & Saints," with gospel group Michael & The Mighty Midnight Revival, which was released in 2024. His work has not only been recognized by the Grammy Awards but by the BET Awards too, winning Album of the Year for "Michael" in 2024. Killer Mike also won the Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance for "Scientists & Engineers".

Beyond his musical career, Killer Mike has also displayed his acting prowess in films such as "Idlewild," "Baby Driver," "ATL," and "America: The Motion Picture". He introduced his docu-series "Trigger Warning with Killer Mike" on Netflix in January 2019. Furthermore, he hosts the weekly interview program, "Love & Respect" on PBS, which received an Emmy Award. Killer Mike's activism work was featured in an episode of "The Real World: Atlanta." He is known to be a vocal advocate for social and political issues, focusing primarily on social inequality, police brutality, and systemic racism. His extensive work as a social justice activist earned him the first-ever Billboard Change Maker Award.

Outside of music and activism, Killer Mike also has several business ventures. He co-founded Greenwood, an online bank aimed at supporting Black and Latinx communities. He also owns a barbershop in Atlanta, GA, known as Graffiti's SWAG. As a speaker, he has delivered keynote addresses and lectures at various prestigious forums, including the inaugural gala for the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression in New York City and a lecture on race at MIT. Killer Mike continues to use his influence to effect change and inspire others in various sectors of society.
