Kim Katrin Milan          

Writer, Educator, Artist, Women and LGBT Advocate

Kim Katrin is a Canadian writer, multidisciplinary artist, activist, consultant, and educator. She was formerly credited as Kim Crosby. She speaks on panels and keynotes conferences nationally, and facilitates radical community dialogues. Her art, activism and writing has been recognized nationally.

Milan's writing and voice have been featured on NPR, CBC Radio, The National Post, The Huffington Post, and Feminist Wire. She has created over 70 workshop series on social change, anti-oppression, intersectionality, race, gender, leadership, youth and young women's empowerment.

Milan is the co-founder and current executive director of The People Project, a movement of queer and trans folks of color and allies, committed to individual and community empowerment through alternative education, art activism and collaboration.

She was the senior editor and contributing writer to Sista Ink, a website dedicated to tattooed women of colour.

She also engages in community based healing initiatives including teaching yoga and hosting yearly healing retreats for femme identified Folks of Colour and Indigenous Folks. Brave New Girls, retreats and healing skill shares. Other community work includes consulting, curricula development, community empowerment, facilitation and workshops.
