Kim Keck

President & CEO of the BlueCross BlueShield Association

Kim Keck is President and CEO of the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association (BCBSA), a national federation of independent, community-based and locally operated Blue Cross and Blue Shield companies. The Blue System is the nation’s largest health insurer covering one-in-three Americans.

In her role at BCSBA, Keck is focused on driving equity and affordability in health care. This focus has led to partnerships addressing the cost of prescription drugs and dedicated efforts to address the racial disparities in maternal healthcare.

Prior to joining BCBSA, she served as President and CEO of Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island, where she drove strategic initiatives and led policy efforts fortifying elements of the Affordable Care Act. She also combatted long-standing social issues influencing health outcomes, including childhood obesity, housing insecurity and racial inequities. She came to that position from Aetna, where she spent 28 years in a multitude of leadership roles.

Named one of Modern Healthcare’s 100 Most Influential People in Healthcare in 2022, Keck was recognized on the Who’s Who list by Crain’s Chicago Business the following year. She is the board chairperson for Synergie Medication Collective and serves on the boards of directors of HarmonyCares, Evolent Health and BCS Financial.

Keck graduated with honors from Boston College with a degree in mathematics, and earned a Master of Business Administration in finance from the University of Connecticut. She is a CFA charter holder.
