Kimmy Tang began creating memorable meals for her family by the age of nine, and quickly developed a unique style seamlessly blending the culinary influences of her Chinese heritage with the exotic tastes and ingredients of Vietnam, her home.

Working in California restaurants for 20 years, Kimmy added classic French cooking techniques to her repertoire and soaked up California’s unique culinary sensibilities. The result, Kimmy’s hallmark style: Sophisticated, Frenchinfluenced Asian cuisines with a little California flair.

In 2001, Kimmy opened the doors to Michelia, her own nouvelle Vietnamese Bistro. Named for a Vietnamese flower, Michelia quickly became a favorite with food critics and food lovers alike for its innovative interpretation of Asian flavors and charming atmosphere. Enthusiastic reviews followed from respected publications including The Los Angeles Times, Los Angeles Magazine, the Zagat Survey, City Search and Jay Weston’s Newsletter.

By popular demand, Kimmy’s specialty sauces and dressings from Michelia are now available for the home chef. Inspired by the unique tastes and ingredients from her homeland, Vietnam, Kimmy’s flagship product line includes Tamarind Sauce, French Spicy Aioli, Black Pepper Sauce, Asian BBQ Sauce, Basil Sauce, Miso Dressing, Papaya Chili Sauce.

Kimmy’s unique take on updating classic Asian dishes is also featured in the cookbook, New Asian Cuisine: Fabulous Recipes from Celebrity Chefs.
