Singer-Songwriter & Producer Known for Her Single "1950"

Mikaela Straus, known by her stage name King Princess, is a singer-songwriter and producer known for her single "1950," which peaked at #17 on the US Alternative chart. "1950" is a tribute to the LGBTQ community and Patricia Highsmith's 1952 novel "The Price of Salt."

Straus is the great-great-granddaughter of of Isidor Straus, who was a U.S. Congressman and a co-founder of Macy's.

Straus attended USC's Thornton School of Music but dropped out after only a year to pursue a music career full-time.

In 2019, King Princess played at Coachella and Lollapalooza, two of the biggest music festivals in the US. Based out of Brooklyn, the young talent is signed with Mark Ronson's label Zelig Records, which is an imprint of Columbia Records.

King Princess identifies as genderqueer and gay and was romantically involved with Amandla Stenberg of The Hate U Give fame from 2017 to 2019.
