Kip Moore was born in Tifton, Georgia. He began playing guitar while attending Wallace State Community College in Hanceville, Alabama, and made his first public performance at a Mellow Mushroom restaurant in Valdosta, Georgia.

Eventually, Moore signed to record label MCA Nashville. Moore's debut album Up All Night was released in 2012. His second album, Wild Ones, was released in 2015. He released his third album, Slowheart, and its hit single "More Girls Like You," in 2017.
