Health and Wellness: Nutrition-Integrative Health
In my role as an educator and researcher one of my favorite topics is to present the topic of Health and Wellness to healthcare professionals as well as the lay person who is interested in improving their life or that of family members or friends.
Indeed, the healthcare system is a complex ecosystem that has been significantly impacted by recent global events, including the COVID-19 pandemic and ongoing wars. This ecosystem, comprising healthcare providers, insurers, pharmaceutical companies, regulatory bodies, and technology providers, is deeply interconnected. The pandemic has exposed vulnerabilities in supply chains, workforce capacity, and resource availability, while recent wars have further strained these systems, leading to disruptions in medical supply chains, displacement of healthcare workers, and increased demand for trauma care and mental health services. These conflicts have also exacerbated the challenges of providing care in conflict zones and highlighted the importance of global health security and emergency preparedness. The combined effects of these crises have reshaped the healthcare landscape, underscoring the need for communication, innovation, and collaboration within this intricate and evolving system.
Attendee Outcomes:
- Comprehensive Patient Care: Attendees will understand how integrative healthcare systems combine conventional and complementary approaches to provide more comprehensive, patient-centered care that addresses the physical, emotional, and mental aspects of health.
