Kory Puderbaugh

Paralympic Silver Medalist

Kory Puderbaugh was born in Poland in 1996. His parents abandoned him to an orphanage at birth, and he was adopted to the United States in 2001.

Kory is a natural-born quad-amputee, lacking lower legs, lower left arm, and a portion of his right hand.

Through the help of Shriners Hospital for Children in Salt Lake City, Kory has received medical care and prosthetic limbs, including a pair of new parabolic running legs.

Kory is very athletic and displays a positive attitude toward competition. He loves the game of chess and devotes to it many hours of study.

With the encouragement and support of his coaches at Lowell Scott Middle School and Centennial High School in Boise, Kory participated in both wrestling and track this year as a freshman.

He is a top competitor for his high school chess team at Meridian Technical Charter High School, where he holds a 3.6 GPA.

Kory’s heroes include chess grandmaster Gary Kasparov and amputee wrestlers Kyle Maynard, Dustin Carter, and Anthony Robles. Kory is an inspiration to his teammates, coaches, and fellow students and is a wonderful example of the true “Spirit of Sport”.
