Kremena Ionkova is the Global Lead for Solid Waste Management and Circularity with the World Bank’s Global Urban Department, Infrastructure Vice Presidency. She brings 25 years of experience in urban development globally.

She has led policy dialogue, investment projects and analytical work focused on local services and infrastructure, climate mitigation and adaptation. She is the thought-leader through some key policy and governance publications in waste management and co-chairs the World Bank’s Solid Waste Management Community of Practice.
