CTO at Sports Hub Technologies; Previous Vice President of Data Platforms at ESPN

Krish Dasgupta is Vice President, Data Platforms and Technology at ESPN, having returned to ESPN in the role in May 2014. In his role, he leads the research, development and operations for sports and user data platforms across all ESPN media globally. He reports to Aaron LaBerge, head of Technology at ESPN.

Dasgupta plays an important role in helping maintain ESPN’s industry-leading position, working with LaBerge and ESPN’s Executive Leadership Team to develop and implement the vision and strategy for data platforms at the company. He also leads a world-class engineering team, spread across multiple global locations, which is responsible for developing and maintaining data platform solutions, analyzing market trends and developing best practices to drive growth, as well as managing collaboration across departments to implement data use and solutions.

Prior to his return to ESPN, he served for 8 years as Vice President of Technology for the start-up Sports Technologies, where he oversaw technology and product development for FanNation and was responsible for the creation of fantasy sports games and communities for the NHL, NASCAR, NCAA, the NFL and SportsIllustrated.com, reaching millions of players.

Dasgupta had two previous stints at ESPN in his career, dating back to 1998 when he worked at Starwave on developing industry-leading ESPN fantasy games (Starwave was acquired by Disney/ESPN that year). He left to lead mobile product development at UIEvolution, where he helped develop one of the first “bottomline” graphics systems for mobile devices. He returned to ESPN as a Sr. Software engineer in 2004 before leaving to help start Sports Technologies in 2006.

Dasgupta attended Purdue University in Indiana where he studied Mathematics.
