Vanity Fair's Executive West Coast Editor

Krista Smith is Vanity Fair's executive west coast editor and de facto ambassador to Hollywood. She profiles rising talent for the Vanities section, helps produce the annual Hollywood Issue, and interviews filmmakers and actors on camera at the Sundance and Toronto film festivals.

Smith joined Vanity Fair as a freelance fact checker in 1989, continuing on to become associate research editor and then features associate in 1990. In 1993, under the leadership of editor Graydon Carter, Smith relocated to Los Angeles to become Vanity Fair's West Coast editor, a position she currently holds. Smith has written a number of cover stories for the magazine, including articles about Naomi Watts, Paris Hilton, and Jude Law.

In 2013, she hosted @VFHollywood with Krista Smith for Vanity Fair’s YouTube channel, and she frequently conducts Twitterviews with notables on Twitter.
