Co-Founder & Chief Executive of Project HEAL; Eating Disorder Awareness Advocate

Kristina Saffran is the cofounder and development director of Project HEAL: Help to Eat, Accept and Live: a 501(c)3 non-profit that raises money for people with eating disorders who cannot afford treatment and inspires people to believe that full recovery from an eating disorder is possible.

There are currently over 40 chapters of Project HEAL across the United States, Canada, Mexico and Australia. Project HEAL has developed partnerships with sixteen recognized eating disorder treatment centers across the country who offer treatment grants to our applicants. Finally, Project HEAL has become the premier voice of eating disorder recovery, with an expansive social media reach.

Saffran was named a 2017 Forbes 30 under 30 social entrepreneur and has been profiled in The New York Times, Fast Company and People Magazine. She’s spoken across the country –Stanford Medical School, Harvard College, The International Conference of Eating Disorders, and more – on eating disorders, recovery, and launching a successful social entrepreneurship as a teen.

Saffran also serves as a part time clinical research coordinator at Stanford Medical Center, working on an investigation of refeeding syndrome in anorexia nervosa. She graduated from Harvard College with a bachelor's degree in psychology in May of 2014. She lives in San Diego with her husband Ryan and bernedoodle Walter, and her favorite ice cream flavor is Malted Milk in a waffle cone.
