Kurt Rambis

Former NBA Player

Kurt Rambis is a former NBA player and is currently an assistant coach for the Los Angeles Lakers.

He graduated from Santa Clara University prior to playing in Greece where he won the Greek Cup in 1981.  He then joined the NBA where he spent 14 seasons.  He played with the Lakers where he won four NBA titles, the Charlotte Hornets, Phoenix Suns, and the Sacramento Kings.

After retiring from his playing career, he briefly coached the Lakers franchise during the 1999 "lockout season" following the firing of coach Del Harris.  He was later replaced by Phil Jackson, but became an assistant coach; a position he still holds today.
