Kyle Brandt

Kyle Brandt portrays the edgy and secretive "Philip Kiriakis" on NBC's number one daytime drama, Days of our Lives.

Kyle has six siblings, sisters Ashley (26), Casey (20) and Natalie (3 months) and brothers Austin (12), Tyler (11) and Christopher (3); and of course there is "Charlie," the family Wheaten terrier. Kyle was born in Hinsdale but grew up in Indianhead Park and Lincolnshire, all northern suburbs of Chicago.

Although widely recognized from his stint on MTV's successful Real World: Chicago, Kyle's first acting job was as "the King" in his fourth-grade production of The King and I. Growing up he did some print and commercial modeling, thanks to the help of his industry related parents; his mom was a successful commercial actress and dad an advertising executive.

After high school, tired of living the stereotype and lifestyle of "jock," he dived into a basic freshman acting class in college and found it really turned him on to the idea of being an actor. Kyle graduated from Princeton University where he was a member and officer of Beta Theta Pi fraternity and played four years of football for the Tigers as a running back. During his college summers Kyle equally divided his time training for football and honing his acting skills. He participated in summer theatre programs at Northwestern University, Chicago's famed Second City and the NY Film Academy. Kyle defines his dual personality those days saying, "I was definitely leading a double life those summers, it was amazingly fun!"

College also brought along the opportunity for Kyle to join the cast of MTV's successful Real World franchise. "It was a fun and emotionally exhausting experience," explains Kyle. "Although it seems timeless for the audience it was only four months of my life during a summer almost two years ago. It is in the past for me although, I do not deny the wonderful opportunities coming in the wake of the notoriety the show has given me. I am now moving forward." Kyle is certainly not letting his Real World experience dictate his future; "I honestly don't really think about it that much anymore… unless someone asks!"

He lives by the motto he has had hanging in his apartment since his arrival in L.A., "Be aggressive but be patient, this is the only life you will live." Kyle believes he really is living it, too, "at first, of course, you want everything now, now, now but you will kill yourself if you aren't patient!"

Kyle currently lives in Los Angeles and enjoys movies, all types of music and working out. He also plays on a basketball league twice a week.
