Co-Founder & Former CEO of the Future Frontiers Institute; Co-Founder of LunARC

Lakshmi Karan is the co-founder of LunARC, a non-profit that aims to democratize space exploration and development. Karan is also the Co-Founder and CEO of Future Frontiers Institute, an organization established to ensure sustainable, responsible, and equitable space development with a near-term focus on human settlements on the Moon. Karan serves as an advisor to the Space Portal Office at NASA’s Ames Research Center, which incubated Future Frontiers.

Additionally, Karan is the founder of IKIGAI Insights, a firm that offers expertise to nonprofit, foundation, and business leaders. Throughout her career, Karan has consistently aided purpose-driven organizations and individuals in setting visions and delivering large-scale impact. Karan has held a number of significant roles in the past, including head of corporate charitable giving at Genetech, executive director of the Genetech Foundation, and director of global strategy for UK-based social enterprise Riders for Health.

Karan's other high-impact roles include serving as director of impact assessment, learning, and utilization at the Skoll Foundation, and a program consultant at Reebok.
