Founder Indian Premier League Cricket

Lalit's association with Indian Cricket began in 2005 when he became President of the Rajasthan Cricket Association, where he not only brought Jaipur stadium up to international standards but revolutionised the cricket match day experience through simpler and effective marketing and security. He was then appointed as one of the Vice Presidents of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, (BCCI), where he worked on the development of the domestic Twenty20 league format before founding the Indian Premier League in September 2007 (IPL).

Lalit has, in the past, also launched Ten Sports, ESPN and Disney Consumer Products in the Indian market, as well as Buena Vista Television and Fashion TV.

In 2005 he was appointed Vice President and Chairman of the Marketing Sub-Committee of BCCI, and two years later became Chairman and Commissioner of Indian Premier League.

Lalit has won several awards for innovation, including the NDTV Profit Most Innovative Business Leader in India award, Frost & Sullivan Growth Excellence Award for Excellence in Innovation (both 2008), CNBC Business Leader award 2009, and IPL was voted Brand of the Year 2009 by Business Standard/Assocham India Leadership Conclave.

Lalit enjoys traveling, movies and above all spending time with his family.
