Lance Bass

*NSYNC Singer, Film Producer, LGBTQ+ Advocate

Singer, actor, and producer Lance Bass grew up in Mississippi and rose to fame as the bass singer for the boy band *NSYNC. The band's success led to a career in film and television for Bass, including the 2001 film "On the Line."

NSYNC's first album, No Strings Attached, sold a record-breaking 2.4 million copies its first week, launching NSYNC as a significant force in pop music. The band released a second album, 2001's Celebrity, before disbanding in 2002. In total, the band sold over 56 million records worldwide.

Bass formed his first film production company, A Happy Place, geared towards family-friendly films. Its first feature film was "On The Line." The company was renamed Bacon & Eggs and produced its second feature film, "Lovewrecked," in 2005. Bass later established another production company, Lance Bass Productions.

He also tried his hand in front of the camera. In addition to playing the lead in "On The Line," he also appeared in "7th Heaven," "Zoolander," and "Tropic Thunder." His experience dancing with *NSYNC helped him secure a third-place finish on season seven of "Dancing with the Stars," where he was partnered with Lacey Schwimmer.

In July 2006, Bass publicly revealed that he is gay in a cover story for People magazine. He received the Human Rights Campaign Visibility Award in October 2006 and released his autobiography, "Out of Sync," in October 2007, which debuted on the New York Times Best Seller list.

Bass continues to leverage his platform for various philanthropic efforts. He is actively involved with the Boys and Girls Club of America and supports numerous initiatives, including foundations aiding low-income children, Hurricane Katrina relief, and advocating for animal rights through PETA. Additionally, Bass serves on the boards of OnePulse and the Environmental Media Association, emphasizing his commitment to environmental activism.

Beyond his entertainment and philanthropic endeavors, Bass is a partner in Rocco's and Heart WeHo, the largest gay nightclub in the U.S. He is also an investor in Cameo and involved in several innovative apps and startups such as Modern Trust, Heerio, OSDB, and Good Catch. His role as a judge on the YouTube show "Unicorn Hunters" further showcases his diverse professional engagements. Bass is a vocal advocate for mental health and wellness, using his personal experiences with depression, diabetes, and psoriatic arthritis to raise awareness about the importance of mental and physical health care.
